College Preview Night Set for March 29(Posted: February 28, 2012)
The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith has planned an event March 29 for adults who want to know how to return to college to finish their degrees or how to begin college for the first time.
College Preview Night will be held from 6-8 p.m. in the Boreham Conference Center, room 101 of the Baldor Technology Center. This event will offer information on all aspects of attending UAFS and provide numerous resources with the help of the Office of Non-Traditional Student Support, according to Laura Freeman of Greenwood, admissions officer.
"The students will be able to check in outside of the Boreham Conference Center where tables will be set up," Freeman said. "We will have UAFS speakers from Financial Aid, Student Advising, the Academic Success Center and ADA services."
Freeman said the purpose of the event is to get prospective non-traditional students familiar with the staff, help them make a connection in their process of entering college and ensure they will have a great experience.
"We will also have a student panel consisting of current non-traditional students who will be able to answer questions," said Freeman.
Current non-traditional students will help emcee, check in and seat prospective students and guests, and answer questions about their experiences at UAFS.
