• What degrees does UAFS offer?
  The University currently offers bachelor's degrees, associate degrees and certificate options. See a full listing of the degrees and programs offered by UAFS.

• What are the admissions requirements?
  UAFS seeks students who will be successful in a higher educational setting. Please see the admissions requirements for specific requirements by student type.

• When will I receive an acceptance letter?
  Students who have applied to UAFS will receive a letter stating the outcome of their application. The student's acceptance or denial to UAFS is based on the completion of the admission requirements and placement test scores. No person shall ever be denied admission based on race, color, religion, gender, age, or otherwise qualified students with a disability. For questions concerning acceptance, please contact an admissions officer.

• What is unconditional and conditional enrollment?
  Students who graduate from high school or receive a GED after May 1, 2002, will be evaluated for conditional/unconditional admission based on the conditions set forth by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas. The law requires that public high school students must have successfully completed the college preparatory curriculum with a 2.00 (on a 4.00) GPA scale in order to be unconditionally admitted to UAFS. Conditional admission requires demonstration of satisfactory progress for continued enrollment. Please see the detailed explanation in the Admissions section of our Academic catalog.

• What is NSO and how do I register?
  NSO is New Student Orientation for first-time entering students or returning or transfer students with fewer than 13 credit hours. At NSO, you will:
  • Meet your academic advisors
  • Meet other new students
  • Select and register for classes
  • Get your student ID
  • Get answers to questions about registration, degrees, courses, and planning
  • Learn how to web register for future terms
  • Learn about various student activities
    New Student Orientation is held in May, June, July and August. Students must sign up for New Student Orientation with the Admissions and School Relations Office. Please check with an admissions officer to ensure your admissions file is complete.

• What scholarships does UAFS offer?
  UAFS offers several scholarships for first time freshman and transfer students. To see a complete listing of the scholarships offered by UAFS, please visit our scholarship page.

• Does UAFS accept a superscore for scholarship purposes?
  UAFS does not use a superscore for scholarships or admission.

• What is the ACT Residual and when can I take it?
  The ACT Residual is administered on the UAFS campus and can only be applied to admission at UAFS. It is given the first Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. Students must contact the UAFS Testing Center at (479)788-7682 to reserve their spot. 

• When is the scholarship deadline?
  UAFS scholarships are offered until the scholarship money runs out. However, UAFS does offer a priority deadline for our prestige scholarships. For more information about scholarships, see the scholarship guide.

• How can I apply for Financial Aid?
  You may complete the FAFSA online at www.FAFSA.ed.gov. Also check the Financial Aid webpage for more financial aid options.

• How can I receive more information about UAFS?
  To receive more information about UAFS, complete our online inquiry form.

• Does UAFS have on-campus housing?
  UAFS features two types of on-campus student housing. The Lion’s Den is the premiere suite-style residence hall at UAFS. This 460-bed facility is a primarily first-year student community, with limited space for upper level students. Each suite is designed with the student in mind by providing loftable extra long twin beds, movable wardrobes, desks, and dressers, and task desk chairs. The open modular bathroom provides amenities for the student on the go, and only 4 – 5 students with share a bathroom in a suite. Each suite is located in a wing community with approximately 30 same-gender students, and each wing has a community lounge with a large screen TV and kitchenette. Adjacent to the Lion’s Den is a dining hall where students may enjoy fresh buffet style meals through flexible meal plans in a setting which is both convenient and comfortable.

• UAFS also offers an apartment style residence community for upper level students. The Sebastian Commons Apartments offer one, two, and four bedroom floor plans with all utilities paid. The inclusive rates are competitive with off campus options. Each apartment is fully furnished and has private bedrooms with study desks and locking doors; fully equipped kitchens with refrigerator, oven, stove, dishwasher, and sink disposal; an optional security system for each unit, and high-speed internet access.

• What is Den Day and how do I register?
  Den Day is an event for high school seniors or juniors and their families to preview UAFS. At Den Day you will receive valuable information about admission, scholarships, choosing a major, and making the transition to college. Also, you will hear about activities and organizations from current UAFS students who will share the Lion traditions with you. Register by calling the Admissions office at 479-788-7120.

• What is Cub Camp and how can I register?
  Cub Camp is an exciting, fun-filled weekend is designed to help prepare new students for college life and promotes school spirit, loyalty, and pride. Cub Camp is typically held in August each year. Register by filling out the Cub Camp on-line registration form.
