Something New ... an original movement show

August 23-24

Breedlove Auditorium
This circus-style show is suitable for all ages.

A great way to start the year! Pounding rhythms, amazing dancing, and death-defying feats. If you are a fan of Cirque du Soleil or the “Step Up” movies, you’ll love this one.

Lend Me a Tenor

by Ken Ludwig

October 17-19 and October 21-22
7:30 p.m.
Breedlove Auditorium
This comedy/farce is suitable for ages 13 and up.
Lend Me a Tenor is part of of the UAFS Season of Entertainment 33.

Tito Morelli, the greatest tenor of his generation, is to appear for one night only as Otello in Cleveland. The star arrives late and, through a hilarious series of mishaps, is given a double dose of tranquilizers and passes out. What ensues is a non-stop dose of mistaken identity, heroic bravado, and fast-paced action as the cast tries to save the day. Come see the Tony Award-winning farce that Variety magazine calls “Non-stop laughter."

Women of Manhattan

by John Patrick Shanley

November 21-23 @ 7:30 p.m.
November 24 @ 2:30 p.m.
Breedlove Auditorium
This comedy/drama is suitable for ages 16 and up.
Admission is free.

Come join us for "an Upper West Side story.” This stylized and often very funny play delves into the lives of three upscale Manhattan female "yuppies" whose health, wealth, and success are counter-balanced by their lacking emotional lives. Three strong women carry this show to laughs and maybe a few recollections on love in the modern age.

Crimes of the Heart

by Beth Henley

February 13-15 and February 20-21
7:30 p.m.
Breedlove Auditorium
This drama/comedy is suitable for ages 13 and up.
Crimes of the Heart is part of of the UAFS Season of Entertainment 33.

Warm-hearted yet irreverent, this Pulitzer Prize-winning play about three young Mississippi sisters teems with humanity and humor. As they deal with their family troubles, they find strength in each other and in sisterhood. We end the year on a note of rural Southern life. The New York Post says: "It has heart, wit, and a surprisingly zany passion … it would certainly be a crime for anyone interested in the theatre not to see this play." We agree!

Great Movie Scenes Redone (by our actors)

March 21
7:30 p.m.
Breedlove Auditorium
The genre and rating for this original film work have not yet been determined.
Admission is free.

We take some great scenes from movie history and reshoot them using our own actors. It’s a great chance for us to work on film acting and technique, and a chance for you to see something new from us! Not theatre, an evening of film.

One-Act Play Showcase

April 24-26
7:30 p.m.
Breedlove Auditorium
Various authors contribute  to this Showcase. Ratings  and genres will vary by play.
Admission is free.

UAFS students take on the role of director in our yearly season-ending One-Act Play Showcase. Perfect for the channel-changer in all of us, each piece is from a different genre and shorter than a sit-com. Enjoy!
