Keeping Your Financial Aid
Maintaining your financial aid is just as important as getting the aid in the first place. You should find the following tips helpful as you pursue your educational endeavors.
- Review the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy(PDF) if you are receiving federal student aid, including Stafford loans.
- Know and review the renewal requirements for your scholarships. Almost every scholarship has a requirement for a minimum GPA and a requirement that you complete a minimum number of hours.
- Think before you drop - dropping classes is the number one reason that students lose their financial aid. Consult with a Financial Aid representative before dropping any class.
- Most financial aid is only good for a set number of terms. For example, most scholarships are 8 semesters and Pell Grants are limited to 12 full-time equivalent semesters. It is important to finish your education while you have funding available.
