  • An $11,000 check presentation and energy efficient demonstrations were part of the open house for the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith’s Sustainable Conservation House, an event showcasing the university’s newest learning facility.
  • An exhibit currently on display in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith features a collection of pastel artworks, photos and collages by a local artist.
  • The Drennen-Scott Historic Site owned by the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith has acquired two properties in downtown Van Buren -- one of which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places -- in an expansion effort that will create additional exhibit space, office space, and parking lots for the site.
  • Peter Cullum of Sallisaw, Okla., graphic designer in the Marketing and Communications Office at UAFS, has had an artwork selected for the 57th annual Delta Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture, an exhibit displaying selected works from artists across the region.
  • In a fourth-grade classroom at Hackett Elementary, University of Arkansas - Fort Smith professor Dave McGinnis uses a banana frozen with liquid nitrogen to hammer a nail into a wooden board to demonstrate the effect of molecules slowed by temperature.
