Radiography Pinning Held July 17(Posted: June 19, 2014)
The College of Health Sciences at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith will host its annual radiography pinning ceremony at 6 p.m. July 17 in the Reynolds Room of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, with Gail Bishop as the guest speaker.
Bishop is currently the radiology manager at Mercy Hospital, having previously served as a nurse and staff technologist. She graduated from Sparks Hospital School of Radiography and has previously worked at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The ceremony is for the 17 students who will be candidates for graduation after completing the Associate of Applied Science in Radiography program at the end of the second summer term.
Other program participants include class president Ryan Freeman of Greenwood, who will give the opening and closing remarks. Other class officers are Joshua Sallee of Rogers, vice president; Haley Swain of Fort Smith, treasurer; and Taylor Baker of Greenbrier, secretary.
The pinning ceremony is open to the public. Pinning and awards ceremonies at UAFS are held just prior to graduation at the end of completion of academic programs of study in various health career fields.
UAFS offers the Associate of Applied Science degree in radiography and two bachelor's degrees in imaging sciences, one in diagnostic medical sonography and one online program in management.
