COVID-19 FAQs

UAFS COVID-19 FAQS AND RESPONSE

The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith has resumed face-to-face classes for the fall semester. On June 14 we released the Protecting the Pride: Returning to UAFS in Fall 2021 plan to campus. This plan was developed in collaboration with campus leaders and is based on the most recent medical information from credible sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Arkansas Department of Health, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

The Protecting the Pride plan provides a comprehensive summary of the steps and procedures UAFS will implement to deliver the safest possible environment for living, learning, and working. Of course, just as the COVID-19 pandemic can change as new data or medical advice becomes available, so too will this plan. We will update it as necessary and note the changes within the document.

We have created this FAQ page as a supplement to the Protecting the Pride plan. Please feel free to send any questions not answered in the plan document or on this page to Communications@uafs.edu.

During these chaotic times, we know students may face unexpected financial burdens, and as a university, we will do our best to help students meet those needs.
A resource guide is available here to help UAFS students navigate educational, health, wellness, and economic challenges.

The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Foundation's Student Emergency Fund allows us to provide immediate support to students who encounter unforeseen financial emergencies that may prevent them from continuing their education. These funds do not need to be repaid, as the program aims to address a wide array of critical student needs in a time of emergency - especially one such as the COVID-19 crisis.

Students who need assistance can contact Dave Stevens, dean of students, to learn more. Donors who would like to support the emergency fund can click the link below to donate.
