A renowned female troupe performing comedic music will travel to Fort Smith for a 7:30 p.m. March 3 concert as part of the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith’s Season at The Blue Lion.

Four Bitchin’ Babes will perform at The Blue Lion at UAFS Downtown, located at 101 N. 2nd Street. Tickets are $25.

The group, formed in 1990 by Christine Lavin, has traveled throughout the United States and released nine albums, most recently “Mid Life Vices…A Guilt Free Musical Revue” released in 2012.

Four Bitchin’ Babes has received acclaim for their comedic numbers ranging from sexual topics to the humors of everyday life. The Chicago Tribute said the group’s songs ranged “from sentimental to lusty, spiritual to hysterical” and said, “Contemporary folk has never sounded so good.”

Stacey Jones, associate vice chancellor for campus and community events, said the show will “be a great evening of fun at The Blue Lion.”

“This is a group of very, very talented ladies, and they’ll be a lot of fun to watch,” Jones said. “The show will be sophisticated wit accompanied by catchy music.”

The concert is part of the university’s Season at The Blue Lion, a lineup of musical performances held at the university’s downtown venue featuring local and nationally-recognized musicians.
