With an emphasis on strong design, craftsmanship, and relevant computer skills, UAFS is your first step to a successful career in today’s challenging art scene.
Liberal arts and humanities courses will expand your knowledge of yourself, history, and contemporary society, all of which will help you better communicate through your art work. Students engage professional work in the field via guest artists, programming at the Windgate Art Gallery, study of our campus art collections, and visits to local and regional exhibition venues.
Studio art majors have access to our top-notch facilities, including individual studio
space during the senior capstone. Upon graduation students will have exhibited senior
capstone work in a gallery, and will demonstrate employable skills in problem solving,
self-motivation, project management, and critical and creative thinking. By studying
studio art, students learn to produce, lead, and define visual culture.
