Williams Honored in NWA Business 40 Under 40

The warmth and welcome Christy Williams projects explain her career success and inclusion in this year’s Forty Under 40 list, published by the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal.

Williams, Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for the Advancement Office at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, is pleased to have been included in the prestigious class of 2022. This is the 26^th year the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal has published the list to highlight people in northwest and west central Arkansas excelling in their professions and making a positive difference in their community.

Williams, a Lavaca native, has been at UAFS for 13 years. She started at the university as director of donor relations and earned promotions to major gift officer and then director of annual giving. During three years in annual giving, she nearly tripled the money raised. 

She is proud of her current responsibilities as director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, a position she created and is still developing.  

“I’m proud I can play a small role in making the connections to move our university forward,” she said. “I believe there is still unlimited potential for how far this role and our advancement team can impact UAFS.”

Williams has a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Oklahoma Baptist University and a master’s in operations management from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

She started her professional career in 2006 as the first executive director hired by the board of the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Sebastian and Crawford Counties.

Williams is a past president of the Junior League of Fort Smith, a graduate of the 2010 Leadership Fort Smith class, and a former foster parent. She is involved with multiple civic endeavors, and she is a member of the Western Arkansas Tennis Association board.
