Veterans Resource Fair Slated April 10
The Financial Aid & Veteran Benefits office at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith is set to host a Veterans Benefits Mini Resource Fair, aimed at providing military personnel, military veterans, and their dependents with access to a wealth of resources related to educational support and benefits.
The event will take place on April 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Latture Conference Center, in the UAFS Business & Industrial Center, room 102. The event is free and open to the public.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with representatives from a range of organizations including the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Sebastian County Veterans Office, VFW Post 8845, Arkansas Army National Guard Education Office, We are the 22, the UAFS Non-Traditional Student Organization, and the UAFS Student Veterans Organization. This diverse lineup ensures that participants can explore a wide array of services and support available to veterans interested in pursuing a degree or certificate.
“We are excited to start this event in the hopes it becomes an annual resources opportunity to our students,” said Heather Chance, Advisor & VA Certifying Official at UAFS.
The fair is designed to address key areas of interest for veterans and their families, with representatives from the Muskogee Regional Office of the VA and the Sebastian County Veteran’s Service Office on hand to answer specific questions about benefits.
This inaugural event is one of many events centering veteran students at UAFS. Recently, the university was awarded silver status as a Military Friendly University.
