Campus Update, December 5, 2025

Written By: Terisa Riley

Dear colleagues and students,

It's hard to believe that this was our last week of classes for fall 2025. I hope all of you are feeling ready for final exams, papers, and labs next week. If not, you still have a few days to prepare, and I wish you the very best of luck. Graduating seniors, we are super excited for your commencement ceremonies on December 13. Our special guests are  Colonel (retired) Nathan Todd (10:00 a.m.), and Kelly Eichler, chair of the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees (1:00 p.m.).

Thanks to Jordan Ruud and the faculty and staff of the Boreham Library for hosting another very fun and popular Long Night Against Procrastination. Whether you were drinking a mocktail, petting a puppy, or playing video games, we hope this night helped you to relax and put you in the mood NOT to procrastinate when studying for final exams.

Congratulations to the Department of Music and Theatre for their fantastic Seasons Greetings and Brass and Percussion Ensembles concerts this week. We are so lucky to have free concerts by these wildly talented performers.

SANTA is coming: Tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. To noon, the UAFS Alumni Office will host Little Lions Meet Santa! You and your little lion(s) are invited to join us in the Campus Center for hot chocolate, holiday crafts and FREE pictures with Santa. This event is free, but they request that you bring a donation for the Dave Stevens Lion Pride Food Pantry. The pantry is in need of hygiene products such as deodorant, toothpaste, menstrual hygiene products, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

Students: Looking for a job? Chartwells is hiring! They are seeking a social media/marketing intern to ensure that all of us are aware of the yummy food options available at UAFS. If you are interested in applying, please contact David%20Flannery, Director of Dining Services.

Good luck to the UAFS Men's and Women's Basketball teams in their competitions in Wichita, KS tomorrow. Go Lions, beat those Jets!

Have a safe and productive weekend, Lions.
