Welcome Week Kicks Off Fall Semester at UAFS

The fall semester begins on Monday, Aug. 17, at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, with a full week of events planned to welcome students. 

Welcome Week, the annual week-long slate of events to encourage making connections, having fun, and making the transition back to class smooth, is chock-full of returning activities hosted by many registered student organizations. 

“As we approach the start of another fall semester, we encourage students to take the opportunity to attend our slate of Welcome Week events to get connected to campus,” said Dyllan Newell, coordinator of student activities and civic engagement. 

But the fun doesn’t end with the end of the first week of classes. The RAWC will host the annual Block Party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 26. Newell said the Block Party is a great way to “find a group of people to make lifelong connections.”
