Students can now register for summer classes at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith.

The first summer semester will begin June 1 and offer five- or 10-week course options, with payment due by May 26. The second term will begin July 6, with payment due by June 29.

Julie Burdick, vice chancellor for enrollment management, said summer courses have many benefits for UAFS students.

“Summer courses allow incoming freshman the opportunity to get a head start on their fall classes, and also the opportunity for current students to boost their GPA and retain their scholarships,” she said.

Burdick also said the summer semesters have a flexible course offering including day, evening, and online courses.

The registration deadline for summer classes is May 22 for the first term and June 26 for the second term. Prospective students can complete a short application for admission at www.uafs.edu/apply prior to visiting with an admissions officer.

The Admissions Office is located on the second floor of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center. Office hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Fridays. To view the schedule of classes, go to the UAFS website and click the “Class Schedules” link under the “Quicklinks” column on the right side of the page.
