A week of homecoming festivities at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith culminated in the crowning of students Steven Stone of Lamar and Ashley Anderson of Rogers as 2018 Homecoming King and Queen.

Stone is the son of Stan and Kim Stone. A history with teacher licensure major, he represents Pi Kappa Phi. Anderson is the daughter of Stacy and John McCaslin and represents Delta Gamma as an organizational leadership major.

“I am truly honored to represent my beloved university, the wonderful student body, and Pi Kappa Phi as 2018 Homecoming King,” Stone said. “It gives me great joy to know that the student body believes in me.”

“I am honored to represent UAFS and Delta Gamma as the 2018 Homecoming Queen. This university has not only given me countless opportunities, but it has been a home away from home for the past three and a half years,” Anderson said. “Thank you to everyone who was involved in homecoming and making it all happen. I am excited to represent the university and my organization this year.”

Crown bearers were Trent Sanders of Fort Smith, son of Trevor Sanders and Tiffany Johnson-Sanders, and Hadley Wilson of Muldrow, Okla., daughter of Colby and Amber Wilson.

Stone and Anderson were crowned from a homecoming court of eight nominated students after students voted and candidates conducted interviews with a panel of judges.

Other nominated students were Jamin Bailey of Fort Smith, a mechanical engineering major representing Kappa Alpha Order; Malvern Gann of Ozark, an organizational leadership major representing the Campus Activities Board; Brandon Smith of Van Buren, a biology major representing Kappa Sigma; Whitney Hobbs of Charleston, a nursing major representing Gamma Phi Beta; Sara Earnhart of Greenwood, an English with teacher licensure major representing Alpha Omicron Pi; and Tatiana Scharr of Fort Smith, a social work major representing the Student Veterans Organization.
