Lisa K. Bailey was born and raised in the state of Arkansas, but has moved several times to different states in the past 20 years. She has been a nurse for more than 20 years and has a passion for improving patient outcomes for the maternal/child population. She has been involved in numerous research studies that explore improving the quality of care provided for this patient population. 

Bailey has been a registered nurse for 26 years and a neonatal nurse practitioner for 22 years. She received her associate degree in nursing in 1996 from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. In 1998 she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She obtained a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in neonatology in 1999 from Vanderbilt University and completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice along with a Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2020 from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She also became a certified nurse educator in 2020 and nursing professional development in 2022. 

She has taught a variety of subjects including pathophysiology, obstetrics, oediatrics, health assessment, nutrition, medical terminology, and health and wellness. She has experience with online teaching and has obtained her online teaching certification from Quality Matters. She enjoys teaching and loves working with students to help them reach their educational goals.
