Heather Chance is a dedicated higher education professional with more than a decade of experience supporting students on their academic journeys. She currently serves as the VA School Certifying Official and a financial aid advisor at UAFS, where she processes all military education benefits for veterans and their dependents. As part of her role, Heather provides individualized support to veterans and their families, offering guidance on education benefits and financial aid and connecting them with campus and community resources to ensure their success both in and out of the classroom.
Heather began her journey at UAFS in 2017 as a financial aid specialist before stepping into her current role in 2018. Prior to UAFS, she worked at North Arkansas College as the VA School Certifying Official and administrative assistant to the dean of Student Success and Retention, where she also collaborated with academic advisors and gained hands-on experience in academic advising and support.
As a proud first-generation and non-traditional college graduate, Heather understands the barriers many students face and is deeply committed to helping them succeed. She currently serves on the UAFS First-Generation Student Success Committee, where she advocates for and supports first-generation students across campus.
Heather earned her bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from UAFS in 2025. Her professional strengths include military and veteran education benefits, financial aid advising, student advising, and retention support. Driven by the belief that education can transform lives, Heather is committed to creating inclusive, empowering environments where all students can thrive.
