Biography


Dr. Janine Chitty is a professor of English and English with teacher licensure. She completed her Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and has 15 years of experience in the secondary education classroom. She is currently teaching composition, literature, research methods, and English undergraduate education courses at UAFS as well as graduate courses in the UAFS Master of Education program. Courses taught include Action Research in Education, Young Adult Multicultural Literature, and both graduate and undergraduate Capstone. She was awarded the Lucille Speakman Master Teacher Award in 2022 for excellence in teaching and spotlighted as CAS Faculty Advisor in 2023. Her research interests include K-12 literacy with an emphasis in multiliteracies and technology in the classroom and curriculum and instructional design. She is currently working on multiple publications and presentations that reflect her research interests.
