Michele Elmore MSN, RN has been a nursing instructor for the Carolyn McKelvey School of Nursing at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith since August 2015. She graduated as a registered nurse in the fall of 1996 from Westark Community College and has since obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in May of 2011 and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in May of 2013.

 

She teaches pediatric nursing in the BSN program at UAFS including the didactic and clinical portions at the Junior II level. She is also currently the level coordinator for the Junior I and II levels in the nursing program. Her article "Male Nursing Students and Barriers Faced in Obstetrical Courses: A Systematic Review" was publihed in the Journal of Integrated Health Care. She has also had multiple poster presentations at nursing conferences and was a session leader and speaker at the Simulation User Network conference in September of 2022. She has achieved her online teaching certificate and her sexual assault nurse examiner certificate.

 

She is a passionate nursing instructor, dedicated to her students, and continues to provide bedside nursing care to severely handicapped children during her time off from the university.
