Kreg Haney is the senior manager of economic development for the Choctaw Nation of
Oklahoma. He previously served as a senior business advisor for Choctaw Nation Small
Business Development. He is a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and was
born and raised in Poteau, Oklahoma. He received a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in tribal leadership
from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2020 and a Bachelor of Science in business
administration with an emphasis in management from Oklahoma State University in 2018.
His professional certifications include Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), Economic
Development Finance Professional (EDFP), Society of Human Resource Professional –
Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), Certified Business Advisor (CBA), Business Retention
and Expansion Coordinator (BREC), and numerous certifications from the America’s Banking
Association. He is a 2023 Graduate of Oklahoma University Economic Development Institute.
Kreg is currently serving as a trustee for the LeFlore County (Oklahoma) Development
Coalition, a board member for the Poteau Chamber of Commerce, a board member for LeFlore
County Emergency Medical Services, and is the chair of the Young Professionals of
Poteau. He is also a member of Select Oklahoma and Oklahoma Southeast Economic Development
Organizations. In addition to his duties in the economic development field, he is also a nationally
registered emergency medical technician, volunteering for EMS of LeFlore County, and
is an adjunct professor for UAFS, teaching entrepreneurship and business courses.
In April of 2021 Kreg was honored as the Poteau Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the
Year and in November of 2021 as a Next Gen Under 30 honoree.
