Terry Held is a visiting instructor at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, teaching English composition classes. He has earned an M.F.A. in creative writing - poetry from the University of Arkansas, Monticello and an M.B.A. from John Brown University. He previously taught graduate classes in marketing at Webster University and was part of the English faculty at NorthWest Arkansas Community College.
His research interests include Southern literature and culture, the poet as literary critic, the role of the "flaneur" in modern urban spaces, and the intersect of gastronomy and literature. He is currently working on a collection of nonfiction stories in gastronomy based on personal experiences and travel titled "A la Carte" and a research paper on the gastronomic narrative in Eudora Welty’s "Delta Wedding."
