Dr. Silvia Imanda has an educational and professional background in nursing, business, and information management system. She has served in the roles of professional nurse and nurse educator for more than 15 years. Dr. Imanda holds certifications in educational statistics and research methods through post master's program at the University of Arkansas and in teaching online courses and designs through Quality Matters. She has earned the National League for Nursing, Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential signifying excellence in nursing education.

Dr. Imanda was the first nursing faculty from the Carolyn McKelvey Moore School of Nursing selected by the National League for Nursing Health Information Technology Scholars in 2011. She contributed to W.F. McComas (Ed.), The Languages of Science Education and presented the integration of the nature of science concepts in nursing sim-lab at the Twelfth IHPST Biennial Conference, International History Philosophy and Science Teaching. Dr. Imanda continues presenting her scholarly works at state, regional, national, and international conferences.
