Dr. Lindsy Lawrence is a professor of English. Winner of the 2023 Lucille Speakman Master Teacher Award, she teaches a variety of courses in cultural studies, digital humanities, and 18th- and 19th-century British literature. She has published work on Elizabeth Gaskell, serial poetry publication, and Neo-Victorian themes in contemporary television series such as "Downton Abbey" and "Doctor Who." Her recent publications include an article on domestic violence in Frances Hodgson Burnett's "The Shuttle" and an essay on poetry in Belgravia, and collaboration with undergraduate researchers. She has edited a forthcoming issue of Victorian Periodicals Review on periodical pedagogy today. Her current project is on Frances Hodgson Burnett’s transatlantic serial fiction, reprinting, and author/publisher relationships. She is co-director of the Periodical Poetry Index.
