As an adjunct professor at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, Kayla Madera-Keith has had the privilege of teaching a diverse range of courses that span the fields of communication, media production, and digital arts. Her teaching journey at UAFS has allowed her to impart knowledge and skills across various disciplines, including speech, video production and editing, photography, and Adobe After Effects. Her approach to teaching is centered around creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore their creativity while mastering the technical and theoretical aspects of the subjects. In her speech courses, she focuses on helping students build confidence and proficiency in public speaking, equipping them with the tools they need to communicate effectively in both personal and professional settings. She has been committed to fostering a supportive and collaborative classroom environment where students are encouraged to experiment, ask questions, and take creative risks. She believes that education is most effective when it is interactive and student-centered, and she strives to tailor her teaching methods to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of her students.

In the areas of video production and editing, she guides students through the entire creative process, from conceptualizing and storyboarding to shooting and post-production. Her classes in photography offer a comprehensive understanding of both the artistic and technical elements of the medium, allowing students to develop a keen eye for composition and storytelling. Teaching Adobe After Effects has been particularly rewarding, as she enjoys helping students unlock the potential of this powerful software to create dynamic visual effects and motion graphics. Her goal is to ensure that students not only learn the software but also understand how to apply these skills in real-world scenarios.
