Sharon Nguyen has more than 18 years of experience in healthcare, starting as a certified nursing assistance in labor and delivery before obtaining an Associate Degree in Nursing at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith in 2008. After graduation she continued her passion working in neonatal intensive care and pediatrics plus nine years in long-term care, caring for acutely ill patients.
In 2016 Nguyen returned to her alma mater to teach clinical and didactic learning to future nurses in the Carolyn McKelvey Moore School of Nursing. She is actively involved in her community and serves as a CASA, Safe Babies educator and SANE nurse.
Her research interests include overprescribing of opioids, neonatal abstinence syndrome, autism in children, and managing mental health disorders. She is an active member in the American Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing.
