Tammy Rogers, DNP, RN, CNE, CHSE, is the simulation coordinator and senior instructor in the Carolyn McKelvey Moore School of Nursing at UAFS. Her teaching interests include the use of simulation to build student confidence, communication, and knowledge in a safe environment. Her goal is to encourage students to collaborate with other disciplines to seek evidence-based practice guidelines and become life-long learners.
Student nurses are active learners, and she feels the use of simulation will increase their problem-solving abilities and make their learning time more productive.
Her research interests include the effects of simulation on new graduate performance. She feels simulation experiences can assist with the transition to the new graduate role while building confidence, communication, and decision-making ability.
