Bill Sabo is the regional director of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development
Center at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, where he provides a wide range
of services to startups and existing businesses all free of charge. Prior to joining ASBTDC, he was the director of food, music, and technology for the
New Orleans Business Alliance, where he created business opportunities for individuals
in those fields including helping musicians sell their music on TV and movies and
developing a plan for the first FDA-compliant commercial kitchen in the city for food
manufacturers.
Bill also led a two-year White House initiative during the Obama Administration that
created career pathways for non-traditional technology workers including individuals
without college degrees, returning citizens, and veterans. He holds certifications
as an IEDC-certified entrepreneurial development professional and a certified professional
project manager. In 2022 he was awarded Ambassador of the Year by the ASBTDC for his
work in outreach and DEI.
Bill began his career as a journalist before moving into advertising and marketing
executive roles at newspapers in Boulder, Colorado; Louisville, Kentucky; and Nashville,
Tennessee. He is a graduate of Tulane University with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy
and English and has completed executive leadership programs at MIT and Stanford.
