Mary Isis Wuestewald earned her Ph.D. in criminal justice from the University of Arkansas – Little Rock. She has been an instructor at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith since 2010. She is published in Police Practice and Research and the Journal of Criminal Justice and Popular Culture and is a reviewer for Policing and Society. Her areas of expertise are police officer self-legitimacy, organizational justice, and mass murder incidents. Her current research interests are police well-being, how media and politics impact the criminal justice system, criminal psychology, and violence in society.
