Google Gmail Transition FAQs

UAFS transitioned from Gmail to Microsoft 365 for its student email system in January 2024. Please read this page carefully to see if your question has been answered before contacting our support team.

Do I still have access to my former Google Gmail account?

Users no longer have access to their previous Google Gmail accounts.

What about future emails that may be sent to my previous Google Gmail address?

Any new emails sent to your old Gmail address (username@g.uafs.edu) will appear in your current UAFS Microsoft mailbox (username@uafs.edu).

Will there be any change to the way I access any third-party application?

There should be no impact on UAFS applications. However, IT highly recommends changing your email for any third-party accounts (Netflix, Facebook, etc.) to a personal email the university does not manage. This change will protect your access to those accounts after you leave the university.

Are Google Apps still available?

Yes, Google apps (except Gmail) are still available by logging into myapps.microsoft.com.

Who should I contact if I need help or have any IT questions?

For assistance with Google Apps, you can contact the UAFS IT Service Desk at 479-788-7460 between 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
