Google Gmail Transition FAQs

UAFS transitioned from Gmail to Microsoft 365 for its student email system in January 2024. Please read this page carefully to see if your question has been answered before contacting our support team.

Will I still be able to access my Google Gmail after January 2025?

No, starting January 1, 2025, you will no longer have access to emails in your Google Gmail account. Any Google emails that you wish to save will need to be forwarded to your UAFS Microsoft email account or to a personal email account.

What about future emails that may be sent to my previous Google Gmail address?

Any new emails sent to your old Gmail address (username@g.uafs.edu) will appear in your current UAFS Microsoft mailbox (username@uafs.edu).

Will there be any change to the way I access any third-party application?

There should be no impact on UAFS applications. However, IT highly recommends changing your email for any third-party accounts (Netflix, Facebook, etc.) to a personal email the university does not manage. This change will protect your access to those accounts after you leave the university.

Will Google Apps still be available in January 2025?

Yes, Google apps (except Gmail) will still be available in January 2025 by logging into myapps.microsoft.com.

Who should I contact if I need help or have any IT questions?

For assistance with Google Apps, you can contact the UAFS IT Service Desk at 479-788-7460 between 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
