Written By: Rachel Putman
University of Arkansas – Fort Smith students, alumni, faculty, and staff are invited to attend the annual SUIT UP event at JCPenney on Sunday, Oct. 26, from 3-6 p.m. at Central Mall. The event offers exclusive discounts on professional attire for the UAFS community.
SUIT UP is one of dozens of events including resume workshops, skills assessments,
mock interviews, and networking sessions hosted by the Babb Center for Career Services
ahead of the UAFS All-Majors Career Fair, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Reynolds Room
of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center.
“We are excited for our Fall All-Majors Career Fair and the opportunity it brings
for students to build their professional network and interact with local and regional
employers,” said Susan Krafft, Executive Director of the Babb Center for Career Services.
“The job market is tough right now, so we want to give our students every advantage
we can to find a great part-time job, internship, or full-time position after graduation.
Suit Up is a great partnership with JC Penney – we love that our local store is managed
by a UAFS alum and we encourage ALL Lions to take advantage of this special sale on
professional attire.”
The All-Majors Career Fair is presented by ArcBest/ArcBest Technologies. Platinum Sponsor is Rheem and Gold Sponsors are CED/Consolidated Electrical Distributors, 1st Employment, Arvest Bank, and Choctaw Nation.
The Babb Center for Career Services also offers students access to the career clothing studio on campus, a free resource providing new and gently used business attire for interviews, internships, and presentations. Students may browse the studio during open hours or make an appointment through Navigate or by emailing CareerServicesFREEuafs.
The career clothing studio accepts donations of clean, professional clothing in good condition. Donors may contact Career Services to schedule a drop-off time. Only business professional or business casual items will be accepted.
