The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith will present Wendy Wasserstein’s The Heidi Chronicles in the Breedlove Auditorium on November 5-7 at 7 p.m.

The Heidi Chronicles first premiered Off-Broadway at the Playwright Horizons Theatre in New York in November of 1988. It then opened on Broadway in March of 1990 at the Plymouth Theatre, winning two Tony Awards for Best Play and Best Featured Actor.

Wasserstein’s play follows Heidi Holland from her high school dance into the 1960s where she has a successful career as an art historian. The play is a fun and emotional story that focuses on the second wave of feminism in the 1970s. Audiences will laugh and cry with the characters, stepping into the story of a woman whose societal expectations are ever-changing.

Faith Cureton, who plays the lead role of Heidi Holland, shares why people should see the show, stating, “I think it’s a show a lot of people can relate to. It’s about growing up, finding yourself, and figuring out what makes you truly happy. It reminds you that it’s okay to not have everything figured out.”

Performances are Thursday, November 5th through Saturday, November 7th at 7 p.m. in Breedlove Auditorium.

General admission is $10. Tickets for UAFS faculty, staff, and students are free.
