The University of Arkansas Fort Smith will bring its Transfer With Pride road show to the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain in Mena on Wednesday, Nov. 18, offering prospective transfer students a free lunch, a scholarship and an opportunity to explore their options for completing a bachelor's degree at UAFS.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at UA Rich Mountain, 1100 College Drive in Mena. Every student who attends will receive a UAFS scholarship and lunch at no cost.

Admissions and Financial Aid representatives will be available to answer questions about transfer requirements, academic programs, existing credits and funding options. Students can also meet the university staff members who will help guide them through the transfer process.

The Transfer With Pride series brings university representatives directly to community college campuses across Arkansas to help students navigate the transition from a two-year institution to a four-year university.

UAFS offers several financial aid opportunities designed specifically for transfer students, including the Helping Hands Transfer Scholarship, which provides eligible students with up to $1,000 annually for three years. Students with at least 12 transferable credit hours and a minimum 2.0 college GPA may qualify.

Other opportunities include the Transfer Achievement Scholarship, which provides competitively awarded assistance of up to $9,000 over three years, and the Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship, which offers eligible members up to $8,000 over two years.

The university's Smart Choice Tuition Waiver also allows eligible transfer students to save up to $9,000 in tuition costs. Students who transfer at least 30 earned credit hours and meet university admission requirements can receive a $100 tuition discount per credit hour for up to 90 credit hours or until degree completion.

Students can explore eligibility requirements and financial aid opportunities through the UAFS transfer scholarships webpage.

Students interested in attending the Nov. 18 event can register online. Additional information about the road show is available at uafs.edu/transfer-with-pride.
