Start your career a step ahead of the competition with the Industrial Electronics and Electrical Maintenance Certificate of Proficiency. This 11-credit-hour certificate is ideal for individuals who want to build a strong technical foundation in a high-demand field—whether new to the industry or updating their current skillset. Coursework covers the fundamentals of electricity, electronics technology, circuitry, and electronic components. With a hands-on, practical approach taught by experienced industry professionals, students gain a working knowledge of modern electrical systems and core industrial maintenance concepts. 

Students who complete this certificate can continue their education at UAFS by pursuing an Associate of Science in electrical technology or a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering technology. These programs build on the foundational knowledge gained through the certificate and offer advanced instruction in electronics, automation systems, and engineering design. Credits earned through the certificate apply directly toward both degree programs, giving students a seamless, cost-effective pathway to further credentialing and expanded career opportunities in electrical engineering, maintenance management, controls engineering, and industrial automation.

The Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering technology is a completer degree for students who have completed the Associate of Applied Science in electronics technology; have completed 45 hours toward the degree; or have permission from the dean of the College of Business and Industry.
 
The Associate of Applied Science in electronics technology is designed to train students in theory and practical skills that prepare them for jobs in the maintenance of common electrical and electronic devices and instruments. 
 

The Associate of Applied Science in general technology enables you to design an individualized program of study to fulfill career goals that cannot be met by any single degree program. You will work closely with an advisor to select courses from multiple technical disciplines and develop a program related to your career objectives.
