Create a brighter future and shape a rewarding career with the Certificate of Proficiency in MIG welding. This 12-credit-hour program is ideal for individuals beginning their welding careers and offers a supportive, hands-on learning environment. Students build beginning and advanced MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding skills and essential training in print reading, safety, and fabrication techniques. Taught by experienced industry professionals, the curriculum focuses on real-world application to prepare students for high-demand careers in manufacturing, construction, and related fields. 

Students who complete the Certificate of Proficiency in MIG welding can continue their training by pursuing the Technical Certificate in welding and the Associate of Applied Science in welding at UAFS. Each credential builds upon the last, allowing students to deepen their knowledge with more advanced coursework in structural welding, pipe welding, and fabrication. Credits earned from the certificate apply directly to the higher-level credentials, providing an efficient and affordable pathway for students who want to grow their expertise, increase their earning potential, and access broader career opportunities in the welding profession.

The Associate of Applied Science in general technology - welding is designed for students to develop skills that meet certain certification test standards for both structural and high-pressure vessel welding. Students will learn basic and advanced skills in arc, MIG, and TIG welding along with theories and practical application of fabrication and layout.
 

The Associate of Applied Science in general technology enables you to design an individualized program of study to fulfill career goals that cannot be met by any single degree program. You will work closely with an advisor to select courses from multiple technical disciplines and develop a program related to your career objectives.
