Start your career with the necessary skills in precision welding and fabrication.

Create a brighter future and shape a rewarding career with the TIG welding Certificate of Proficiency. This 12-credit-hour program is for students beginning their journey in the welding industry who want to specialize in TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding—a high-precision technique used across multiple trades. Students build technical skills in TIG welding, welding safety, and print reading through a hands-on, supportive learning environment. The curriculum offers beginning and advanced instruction to help learners develop the accuracy, control, and confidence required in today’s manufacturing and construction industries.

Students who complete the TIG Welding Certificate of Proficiency can continue their education at UAFS by enrolling in the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in welding program. The AAS degree builds on the foundational skills gained in the certificate, offering advanced instruction in fabrication, structural welding, pipe welding, and industry-standard techniques. Credits earned through the certificate apply directly toward the AAS, making it an efficient and cost-effective pathway for students seeking to deepen their technical knowledge, expand their career options, and pursue leadership roles within the welding profession.
