Lion Voices - Michelle Atkins
Happy Friday Lions! Today’s #LionVoices feature is Michelle Atkins! Michelle is a senior International Business major at UAFS, a member of Student Leadership Council, Student Alumni Ambassadors, and the Vice President of Beta Gamma Sigma.
Michelle said the biggest things that influenced her decision to attend UAFS were its proximity to her home and its affordability. She also spoke to the way UAFS allowed her to grow personally, saying, “I liked the leadership opportunities UAFS offered, and its scholarships gave me the chance to experience them.”
She also found support in the staff and faculty at UAFS “All the people I’ve met are very motivated and want to help you. Whether its networking, career opportunities, or just helping with homework, they are always there to lend a hand.” She also said UAFS has helped her to be more confident in herself and her goals. “Over the years I’ve felt I’ve been able to advocate for myself, what I want, and what I want to do.”
Michelle said the diversity on campus is what makes her the proud to be a lion. “I really like that there are so many cultures and my major lets me experience all those cultures. I don’t feel like I could get that on other campuses.”
