Lions Voices: Violet Blurton

Written By: Jacob Howell

Happy Friday Lions! Today’s #LionVoices feature is junior Nursing major, Violet Blurton. Violet is from Bullhead, Arizona and currently serves as the Panhellenic VP of Recruitment and the Director of Socials & Formals for the Delta Gamma sorority.

Violet’s decision to attend UAFS was influenced by the campus’ proximity to her family and that the “nursing program is one of the top notch in the state and creates a challenge.” She also went on to say “I’m a first generation and I wanted to make a difference within my family. I didn’t want to just work a retail job.”

Violet said what changed her the most in her college years was “is the community that UAFS has. It has brought me out of my shell and not be so shy and timid and being afraid of who I am.” She said that she is most proud of the way she can make an impact in other’s lives by being a UAFS student. “Being a Cub Camp counselor, seeing the first day to the last day transformation of freshmen being able to be and express their true selves.”
