The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Department of Music will hold its eighth annual Octubafest beginning at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 28 in the Reynolds Room of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, an event culminating with a free concert at 7:30 p.m.

All high school and college euphonium (baritone) and tuba players are invited to bring their instruments and perform in a mass tuba-euphonium ensemble as part of the Octubafest activities. Following the rehearsal of tuba-euphonium music, there will be a meet-and-greet time that includes free pizza and soft drinks for all participants.

The 7:30 p.m. concert will also be held in the Reynolds Room and will feature polka favorites performed by the tuba-euphonium ensemble, UAFS faculty members and UAFS brass students. The public is invited to attend, with free root beer and popcorn served to the audience during the concert.

Advance registration is not required to participate in the Octubafest.
