University of Arkansas - Fort Smith theatre students will display their own interpretations of classic cinema when they show “Great Movie Scenes Redone” at 7:30 p.m. March 21 in the Breedlove Auditorium.

The screening, which was filmed several weeks in advance, is free and open to the public. It will last approximately 20 minutes and spans generations of films, from “Gone With the Wind” to “Silver Linings Playbook.”

Theatre Director Bob Stevenson of Fort Smith said the show “is a chance to see some of our best college actors on the silver screen.”

“We will take several memorable scenes from different movies throughout the years and give our students a chance to direct and shoot these scenes for you,” he said. “The work happens over a week or two, but in the movie business you don’t get to see the work, only the finished product on opening night, which for us is March 21.”

Theatre @ UAFS is offering six productions this year, with two of those as part of the University's Season of Entertainment annual slate of productions and concerts. The department’s final production of the school year, “One-Act Play Showcase,” will take place April 24-26.
