The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith is seeking comments from the public concerning the university in preparation for its reaffirmation of accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), the university’s regional accrediting agency.

The university will host a visit from the HLC April 13-15, and the agency will evaluate UAFS based on the commission’s accreditation criteria, which includes ethical and responsible conduct on behalf of the university, the quality of education, how the university communicates its mission, and if the university’s resources, structures and processes are sufficient to fulfill its mission.

The university has been accredited by the commission since 1973.

The public is invited to submit comments regarding the university by visiting the commission’s website at http://hlcommission.org/HLC-Institutions/third-party-comment.html, or by mailing The Higher Learning Commission, 230 South LaSalle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, Ill. 60604-1411. The webpage is also accessible by clicking on the “2015 HLC Visit Third Party Comments” button under “Quicklinks” on the front page of the UAFS website, www.uafs.edu.
