Faculty Senate Bylaws

The Faculty Council, the Faculty Senate, and its standing committees have been established to provide an organized voice for the faculty of the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith so that the faculty can serve as a positive part of the shared governance system of the university, resulting in continuous improvement of the institution.

Voting members of the Faculty Council shall be (1) those full-time employees of the university with teaching included as 50 percent or more of their appointment and (2) professional librarians. Adjunct faculty and visiting faculty are considered non-voting members of the Faculty Council.

The Faculty Council operates through the Faculty Senate and its standing committees. Faculty Senate bylaws have been organized by Articles. Archived bylaws and past amendments are available through the My.UAFS faculty portal.
