Opera & Musical Theatre Workshop - Season of Entertainment

The Opera & Musical Theatre Workshop is pleased to present The Christmas Gift, a warm-hearted holiday season opera by award-winning composer James Sclater. This delightful one-act opera in four scenes is appealing to audiences of all ages. 

The opera is based on the Raymond Alden story, “Why the Chimes Rang,” and focuses on the travels of two brothers who are making the long journey through winter snow, ice, and chilly temperatures to reach the Christmas Eve service at a church in their rural village. 

This performance will be the first time in over 30 years that a complete opera will have been performed by a UAFS student ensemble.
