Lion Voices: Glenn Brewer II

Written By: Kristin Centeno

Happy Friday and Happy Black History Month, Lions! This week’s #LionVoices feature is sophomore business administration major, Glenn Allen Brewer II!

Glenn is a Fort Smith native and knew from a young age that attending UAFS would bring him a multitude of opportunities. Glenn is fully immersed in campus life, serving as president of Men of Excellence, a member of the Black Student Association, and working for the UAFS Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.

I’m loving being involved, it’s opened many doors for me and it has been a blessing” he said. “UAFS makes me feel as if I have a one-on-one relationship with all my faculty and staff. While at some other universities you wouldn’t feel as if the people around you actually care about you as a person, at UAFS, that’s not a problem.”

Though he came to college majoring in Mechanical Engineering he soon realized his passion was in business. “I chose a concentration in finance and investments because I enjoy researching and talking about financial literacy and building generational wealth”

“I’ve been surrounded by business my entire life, so it was a comfortable path one I’m already excited about.”
One of those businesses he’s grown up with is “Brew House Catering and Food Truck,” which he helps his family run when he’s not working on campus.

Glenn, who graduates in 2024, intends to pursue his MBA or CFA and open his own advising firm, putting his determination and ambition to work for others.

“At UAFS I’ve learned about responsibility. College has really made me stay on top of things and be disciplined” he says, “without discipline, it’ll be hard to persevere in anything you decided to do.”
“So don’t rush into big decisions,” he said. “Take time to get to know yourself and realize what it is that you really want and do what’s best for you!”

Next week you can join Glenn and his fellow Men of Excellence at the Black History Month Barbershop Talk from 5-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, in Math Science Room 100.
