The president of two Arkansas-based technology companies and a local business consultant will serve as guest speakers for the May 19 breakfast meeting of the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith’s Family Enterprise Center.

Tom Scott, president and founding partner of Arkansas CAMA Technology (ACT) and DataScout LLC, and Mike Boschetti, CPA with Cornerstone Business Advisors, will speak at the meeting, which will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the Latture Conference Center on UAFS campus.

Scott and his partners have begun the process of transferring ownership of ACT to four new partners with the assistance of Boschetti. The two will discuss how to effectively transfer ownership of a professional service organization and provide a business owner’s perspective on the transition.

Scott founded ACT in 1992 and has helped grow the business to eight regional offices with more than 60 employees. Boschetti, who is also a certified exit planner, earned an accounting degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he was a team captain for the Razorbacks. He practiced as an accountant for 12 years before transitioning to his current role as a business consultant.

The Family Enterprise Center provides numerous opportunities for owners and employees of family businesses to learn about common challenges and how others families have dealt with these difficulties. The FEC hosts professional speakers who are family business leaders, as well as experts in legal and accounting matters.

Annual FEC dues are $550 per year for a family. For more information, to RSVP, or to register for the FEC, call 479-788-7931 or email Dave Robertson, FEC director, at dave.robertson@uafs.edu
