What can I do with a degree in theatre?

Our program is designed to create the well-rounded theatre student. Combined with the traditional liberal arts curriculum, this flexible degree program offers students the opportunity to individually tailor their studies to meet educational and career goals. The B.A. in Theatre provides career opportunities in designing, directing, and performing. If you have a passion for theatre, you will love our program.

Graduates may become actors, critics, directors, dramatists, radio or television newscasters, set designers, or teachers. Both the theatre major and the minor develop skills in communication, leadership, creativity, group processes, and project completion, all skills that are useful in advertising, business, teaching, human resources, and politics.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the annual median wage for performing artists  in 2022 was $45,000.
