Andrea Burton

Director

Andrea Burton (she/her) is the director of the Academic Success Center and a graduate of McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She majored in social studies education and has a Master of Science in instructional technology also from McNeese. She leads the ASC team in supporting student success with a focus on using technology to connect and empower students. She wants every student to believe in themselves and the change they can make in the world."

Lynne Lukas

Assistant Director

Lynne Lukas (she/her) is the assistant director of the Academic Success Center and a graduate of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She majored in human resources and workforce development while working full-time for the Graduate School and International Education. She leads the peer tutoring program, presents educational workshops, and consults with faculty and staff to develop and improve ASC program services. She believes that education is of utmost importance to the betterment of our world.

Amber Robinett

Academic Coach

Amber Robinett (she/her) is an academic coach for the Academic Success Center. She is a recent graduate of Arkansas Tech University majoring in psychology with a minor in rehabilitation science and an associate degree in criminal justice. She then went on to pursue a Master of Science in student affairs administration and graduate certificate in advising while working as a teaching graduate assistant for the Department of Student Affairs Administration. She is excited to continue working with students to develop and improve their academic skills and achieve their goals.

Derek Hill

Academic Coach

Derek Hill is an academic coach for the Academic Success Center. He graduated from UAFS in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in media communication and a minor in speech. While at UAFS he was a student manager for the men’s basketball team for four years. He then went on to graduate with a master's degree in sport administration from Arkansas State University. He is excited to go to work every day on the same campus that gave him so many great memories as a student. He loves working with students on time management, organization, and study skills. His favorite thing about being an academic coach is seeing his students believe in themselves, achieve their goals, and watching them walk across the stage on their graduation day!


Allyson Lovell

 

Allyson Lovell

Operations & Testing Coordinator

Allyson Lovell is the operations and testing coordinator at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, where her journey has come full circle as a dedicated alumna. After achieving her bachelor's degree from UAFS in studio art, she spent time in Washington state where she honed her craft as an art framer. Returning to her academic roots in 2022, she found her true calling in higher education, championing students' success. Allyson finds fulfilment in helping students problem solve and creating a comfortable testing environment, helping them feel confident to succeed. She is proud to be part of a compassionate, collaborative community at the Academic Success Center and the university.

Pamela Dixon

ASC Lab Assistant

Pamela Dixon is the lab assistant at the Academic Success Center. Her duties include proctoring and administering exams, managing customer service for students, faculty, and staff, providing helpful information on other campus resources based on their needs, maintaining appointment schedule, and responding to incoming calls and emails. She is excited to be part of the ASC Team and enjoys helping to support and encourage students who are pursuing their academic goals. “It’s an honor and privilege to work at the beautiful and pristine UAFS campus!”
