Admission Requirements

Ready to become a Lion? Start by reviewing the documents and admission standards you'll need to complete your application.

Required Documents

To complete your admission file, submit the following:

Application for admission
Official placement scores from ACT, SAT, CLT, or Accuplacer
Immunization record showing two MMR vaccines (mumps, measles, and rubella) and the date each vaccine was received, a titer test showing immunity to MMR, or an exemption letter from the Arkansas Department of Health, renewed annually
Proof of high school diploma or GED
- Official high school transcript with at least six semesters if you have not yet graduated, followed by an official final high school transcript after graduation; or
- Official GED test.

What does "official" mean? Academic documents must be sent directly to UAFS Admissions from the school or testing center.

Paper documents must remain in the original, unopened envelope provided by the school or testing service.
Electronic documents must be sent directly to Admissions and cannot be forwarded by the student or parent.

Admission Standards

Students enrolling at UAFS for the first time after high school graduation must meet one of the following admission standards.

Applicants graduating from an Arkansas public school or Arkansas public charter school should be a Smart Core Graduate by high school graduation, as established by the Arkansas Department of Education; or
Applicants who did not graduate from an Arkansas public school or Arkansas public charter school should complete or be completing a minimum of 16 high school academic units as listed on the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education website.

Full Admission

First-time freshmen can earn automatic, full admission to UAFS by meeting one of the following four options.

Option 1: No Minimum Test Score

College Placement Exam
No minimum test score is required. Official placement scores are still required for scholarships and course registration.

High School GPA
3.00 minimum

Option 2: No Minimum GPA

Meet one of the following placement exam requirements:

ACT: 19 composite AND 13 Math, 15 Reading, and 15 English; or
SAT: 1010 total AND 440 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and 330 Math; or
CLT: 58 total AND 29 Verbal Reasoning + Grammar/Writing and 5 Quantitative Reasoning.

High School GPA
No minimum requirement. An official high school transcript or GED/HiSet equivalency is required for the application.

Option 3: High School Graduation Placement

College Placement Exam
No minimum test score is required. Official placement scores are still required for scholarships and course registration.

High School Standing
No minimum GPA requirement if the applicant graduates in the top 50% of their high school graduating class.

Option 4: College-Ready Minimums on Accuplacer

Meet the following Accuplacer requirements:

Meet one of the following math requirements:
- Arithmetic: 250; OR
- Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics (QAS): 237; OR
- Advanced Algebra (AAF): 263.

High School GPA
No minimum requirement. An official high school transcript or GED/HiSet equivalency is required for the application.

Lion Scholars Admission

If you don't meet one of the full admission standards above, you may still be admitted to UAFS through the Lion Scholars program.

Lion Scholars provides additional support services and coursework designed to help you build a strong foundation for success in college.
