Roar and Explore is an on-campus, invitation-only experience for admitted students and their families. In one day you’ll explore campus, meet your community, experience a mock class, and leave knowing exactly what to do next.

Held once per year. Strongly recommended for all admitted students.

Why Roar and Explore Matters

Starting college comes with a lot of questions. Roar and Explore is designed to help you move from “I’ve been admitted” to “I feel ready.”

Students who attend often say they leave feeling more confident, more connected, and more prepared to begin their UAFS journey.

Who Should Attend

Roar and Explore is for:

Admitted high school seniors
Admitted transfer students
Add a guest: Parents, guardians, spouses, and family members

Families are encouraged to attend. When students and the people who support them experience the day together, everyone leaves with more clarity and confidence.

Roar Ready Review

The Roar Ready Review is your chance to pause, ask questions, and make sure you know what comes next.

You’ll look at what you’ve already taken care of, see what still needs attention, and leave with a personalized checklist to guide your next steps. You can also connect with campus teams to get answers or take care of items on your list.

You’ll learn when and how to schedule your ROAR advising appointment. Some freshmen may be able to schedule advising during the Roar Ready Review. If there are steps to complete first, you’ll leave knowing exactly what they are and how to move forward.

For Parents and Families

Roar and Explore is a shared experience. While students attend a mock class, parents and guests take part in a family support session focused on the transition to college life.

You’ll learn what the first year can feel like, how UAFS supports student success, and how to stay involved while encouraging independence. This session is about understanding and confidence, not paperwork.

What the Day Looks Like

Roar and Explore is a full-day, on-campus experience that includes welcome activities, academic and student life sessions, campus and housing tours, a mock class, lunch, and time to take care of next steps.

After you register, you’ll receive a detailed agenda so you know exactly what to expect and how to plan your day.
