Promoting Your Organization on Campus

The Babb Center for Student Professional Development Center (CSPD) serves as a resource for local, regional, and national organizations, assisting employers in all phases of the recruitment process of interns and full-time candidates. Working closely with UAFS Career Services, the center provides services such as on-campus interviews, job postings, networking events, career fairs, practice interviews, resume referrals, and information sessions.

To see a list of upcoming opportunities, go to the Calendar of Events. To sign up to participate in an event, please contact the CSPD Office at 479-788-7019 or email Susan Krafft, executive director of Career Services.

The CSPD will promote internships, and full-time career opportunities to UAFS students free of charge through our online system, CareerLink. Based on your specific requirements and qualifications, we will receive resume submissions from students and send their resumes to you. You can register for CareerLink here. To send a targeted job to a specific group of students via email, call the CSPD office at 479-788-7019.

The CSPD encourages students to participate in internships and employers to use internships as a recruiting tool that can help their organization staff for short-term employment and special projects. Internships provide employers the opportunity to observe student performance and evaluate them as potential future employees. Internships can be paid or unpaid, full- or part-time, require no long-term contracts, and can be posted for students at any time. To host an intern or obtain more information about hosting an intern, contact the CSPD office at 479-788-7019.

On-site interview facilities are available on a first-come, first-served basis. CSPD coordinates the employment postings manages resumes, and schedules candidates for interviews. CSPD, working closely with Career Services, will be happy to coordinate all aspects of your on-campus interviews. To schedule an on-campus recruiting date, contact the CSPD office at 479-788-7019.

We strongly support student participation and leadership in student organizations as an important component of their professional development. Many organizations on campus are industry specific, honors organizations, and specific interest groups that seek industry representatives to speak at their meetings. In supporting these groups, CSPD receives requests and coordinates speakers for them. If you would like to volunteer to be on this list, contact the CSPD Office at 479-788-7019 or email Susan Krafft.

The CSPD hosts several corporate mixer sessions during the fall and spring semesters. These are informal sessions in which the students can network with a particular employer. The recruiter has the opportunity to visit with students who are interested in their organization, provide information about employment opportunities, and get to know the students in a less formal setting. To sign up for a corporate mixer or information session, contact the CSPD Office at 479-788-7019 or email Susan Krafft.

The CSPD partners with Career Services to host several networking events during the fall and spring semesters. These include the Accounting Round Robin, Fall and Spring career fairs, and Grad School Expo. For information on these and other events, or to register for one of our events, see the online Calendar of Events.

In partnership with the Western Arkansas Human Resources Association and Career Services, the CSPD coordinates and hosts a practice interview days on campus during the fall and spring semesters. Students can sign up to "interview" for a position with a human resources professional. At the end of the "interview," the student receives feedback concerning their interview skills, how they are dressed, and their resume.

To participate in Practice Interview Day, contact the CSPD Office at 479-788-7019 or email Susan Krafft
