Boreham Library

Boreham Library is the main academic library at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith (UAFS). Students have access to study spaces, research support, computers, printing services, and a wide range of print and digital resources.

At the Boreham Library, UAFS students enjoy access to a 40,000-square-foot learning and research center, group and personal study rooms, a 24-hour computer lab, and expert research assistance from skilled faculty.

  • Rooms can be reserved for up to two hours.
  • Study rooms include webcams that can be used for exams.

• Interlibrary Loan
  • An interlibrary loan is a service offered by the Boreham Library that expands the reach of your research to include books and articles available from other libraries.

Print, Scan, and Copy

• To print, students must use the computers located in the Boreham Library. The printing system does not accommodate printing from phones, laptops, or other devices.
• Prints cost 10¢ per sheet (15¢ if double sided, 50¢ if in color).
• Students have $10 in print funding added to their account each semester, and additional funds can be loaded at any time.
• The library has four scanners available.
  • Two scanners are located in the computer area on the first floor of the library, and two scanners are set up in the 24-hour computer lab.
• There is a Knowledge Imaging Center (KIC) scanner that is great for scanning parts of books. It is in the main lobby and uses a large-format scanner. This scanner only saves digital files

Textbook Share Program

• Starting in 2019, Boreham Library, working with the SGA and faculty, created the Textbook Share Program, which includes textbooks for a number of general education classes. To see if we have materials available, search our course reserves. Searches can be filtered by instructor or course number.

  Due to demand, these titles have limited checkout periods (up to one week), and online access codes are not provided.

The Pebley Center

The Pebley Center is the regional history and archives center at UAFS, dedicated to preserving and providing access to the stories, records, and historical resources that document western Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma. Its collections feature manuscripts, books, family papers, dissertations, government documents, microfilm, local historical society journals, photographs, and other archival materials that reflect the history of Sebastian, Franklin, Polk, Crawford, Logan, and Scott counties in Arkansas, as well as LeFlore and Sequoyah counties in Oklahoma.

The Pebley Center welcomes students, researchers, genealogists, historians, and community members to explore its non-circulating collections in a comfortable research environment. Located in Room 137 of Boreham Library, the Center provides public access to specialized research resources, including computers and microfilm/microfiche equipment, to support historical and genealogical research.
